Restoring Missing Teeth with Dental Bridges

Dental bridges consist of artificial teeth that are anchored in place by neighbouring natural teeth or dental implants. Dental bridges help to restore the appearance and function by filling the gap left by missing teeth.

At Oris Dental, we custom-design to blend them naturally with your existing teeth. This results in a comfortable fit and natural-looking results. In addition to improving aesthetics, these also help to restore chewing and speaking abilities. For many patients, these offer a durable and effective way to regain confidence in their smile and maintain long-term oral health.

When Is a Dental Bridge & Crowns Recommended?

A dental bridge is usually recommended when one or more missing teeth are affecting the appearance or overall health of your smile. Replacing these missing teeth promptly can help to prevent further dental complications.

Replace Missing Teeth

A dental bridge creates a more complete, natural-looking smile that helps to maintain the balance and function of your remaining teeth.

Improve Everyday Function

A dental bridge helps restore the function of your teeth, allowing you to chew food more comfortably and speak more clearly.

Prevent Teeth from Shifting

A dental bridge helps to fill the gap and maintain the position of neighbouring teeth. This ensures proper alignment and helps to preserve the overall balance and stability of your smile.

Maintain Bite Balance

A dental bridge helps to restore proper spacing within your smile. This leads to a balanced bite and distributes chewing force more evenly across your teeth.

What Benefits Can Dental Bridges & Crowns Offer?

By filling the gap left by tooth loss, dental bridges help to improve everyday comfort, support oral health, and provide a natural-looking result. Here are some benefits dental bridges can offer that contribute to a healthier, more confident smile:

  • Natural-Looking Appearance: Dental bridges can be custom-designed to match the colour, shape, and size of your natural teeth, creating a seamless and aesthetically pleasing smile.
  • Enhanced Smile Confidence: By creating a complete smile, dental bridges help you feel comfortable speaking, laughing, and smiling with confidence.
  • Stable Tooth Replacement: Dental bridges provide a fixed and secure solution for replacing missing teeth. Unlike removable appliances, they are designed to remain firmly in place.
  • Long-Term Solution: With proper care and regular dental check-ups, dental bridges provide a durable and reliable tooth replacement option that offers lasting benefits for your smile and quality of life.

What Types of Dental Bridges Are Available?

Dental bridges at Oris Dental can be customised to suit different dental needs and treatment goals. The appropriate option will depend on factors such as the number of missing teeth, the condition of neighbouring teeth, and your overall oral health.

  • Traditional Dental Bridges : Traditional dental bridges consist of an artificial tooth that is supported by dental crowns placed on the natural teeth adjacent to the gap.
  • Cantilever Dental Bridges: A cantilever bridge is used when there is only one adjacent tooth available to support the replacement tooth.
  • Maryland Dental Bridges:Maryland bridges make use of a framework which gets attached to the back surfaces of neighbouring teeth to support the replacement tooth.
  • Implant-Supported Dental Bridges: For patients missing multiple teeth, implant-supported bridges might help to provide additional stability and support.
