We offer sedatives to alleviate your pain and fears of dental procedures, even ones that will keep sounds and smells at a minimum. Think of it as “Relaxation” or “Anxiety-Free” dentistry. Sedation Dentistry

At Oris Dental we practice all kind of sedation dentistry available today.

Patients who need to be extra comfortable to undergo dental treatments can choose Laughing Gas services. We use Nitrous Oxide, which is also known as Happy Gas for good reason. It can keep your fears and anxieties at bay. With us, your comfort level is always a priority.

The dentist can prescribe oral anxiolytic pills that can calm you down and relax your nerves before a dental appointment. Oral Drugs are particularly suitable for patients who may be slightly anxious about dental treatments but otherwise are not worried in the dental chair. Talk to your dentist/GP about Oral sedation before dental treatment today.

Sleep dentistry (also known as Sedation Dentistry, Conscious Sedation or Twilight Sedation) is the most advanced form of dental sedation. It uses a combination of sedative and pain relieving drugs given intravenously to create a dream-like state of deep, calming relaxation for the entire duration of your dental procedure

Who can benefit?

Sleep Dentistry is beneficial for people who:

– Dislike needles in the mouth
– Have a low pain threshold
– Have difficulty becoming numb
– Dislike the noises, smells, tastes and feeling of dental treatment
– Have had traumatic experiences with dentistry in the past
– Have a strong gag reflex and gag easily
– Have very sensitive teeth or gums
– Have jaw problems or have difficulty keeping their mouth open
– Have complex dental problems or need  long sessions
– Are busy and wish to have more work done in fewer sessions

No need to worry

In spite of all the technological progress making modern dentistry gentler than ever before, many people are still apprehensive
about going to the dentist. Such apprehension can make you delay or evade needed dental work.
Are you afraid to smile? Nervous about going to the dentist? You are not alone!
With Sleep Dentistry, you can have your dental work done without fear, anxiety or pain. Sleep Dentistry places you in a deeply
relaxed state hovering between awake and asleep. You will feel completely relaxed and comfortable; yet still be responsive to your
dentist’s instructions

How does it work

You get your first dose of sedatives even before your dentist begins, ensuring that you are relaxed and calm from the very
beginning. During your dental procedure, your Anaesthetist will continuously administer small doses of sedatives to keep you at the exact right level of sedation. You will be monitored continuously. As soon as the dentist is done, you gently wake up and then you can go home. It’s literally as easy as sleeping!

What does it cost

Cost will depend on the duration of the appointment. The advantage of our sedation (Sleep Dentistry) service over a general anaesthetic is that it does not require you to be booked into a hospital, allowing the procedure to be done in the convenience of our inviting practice – saving you considerable time and money.

D)     Treatment under General Anaesthetic

Dr Adarsh Pisharodi is attached to the Sunshine coast private Hospital, Buderim and offers dental treatment under General anaesthetic to treat more complex cases that cannot be done in the dental office.

Family Dentistry

Put your child’s dental fears to rest with our Family Dentistry services. We’re the dentist that likes to see patients who don’t like to see the dentist — no matter what their age is. Rest assured the dentist and staff is adept at working effectively with children who fear going to the dentist or dental procedures. Your child can have the dental care he or she needs here.
